WHEN THE TEACHER IS A CHILD

January 7, 2023

Ecclesiastes 10:16-17 "Woe to thee, O land, when thy king [is] a child, and thy princes eat in the morning! Blessed [art] thou, O land, when thy king [is] the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!" (KJV)

The art of learning and establishing life begins with training. This is why parents take time considering the choice of school they take their kids to. When it comes to spiritual things, a man is as sound as the man who teaches him. Therefore, the debate of having good teachers did not start today, but even in the days of Jesus; people always compared him to John the baptist.

The verse teaches us that unfortunate is the land whose king is a child, whose princes eat in the morning. Meaning that it is dangerous to learn from one who is a child, who has not understood the interpretation of life because a man can only give you what he has. Sadly, many people make the choice to pattern themselves after people who have not been established in the ways of God because they assume that whoever claims to know God has seen God.

The consequence of following a child is never realised immediately; it takes a life time.

One who aspires to be a king must first and foremost have a record to have obedience before God. If a teacher does not know the voice of God, it's only certain that the student will never know God. This explains why the moment you follow certain voices, immediately you begin to produce results that are not consistent to the word of God. For a moment, some put up a show to stand, but eventually, their faith wax cold and they become exactly like their teachers. Always pray for God to give you a great teacher, one who is ever increasing in God.
