The Preservation of God

Psalm 121:7-8 “The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” (KJV)

The preservation of God is His covenant commitment to keep His children safe, secure, and sustained in every season of life. To preserve means more than just to protect—it means to maintain in purity, to guard against decay, to uphold in strength, and to keep from corruption.

The God who called you has not only saved you but also committed Himself to keep you until the end.

God’s preservation is seen in Scripture from the days of Noah, when the ark preserved a remnant from destruction (Genesis 7:23), to Israel in the wilderness, where their shoes did not wear out and their garments did not decay (Deuteronomy 29:5). The same God who preserved Daniel in the lion’s den (Daniel 6:22) and the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:27) is the God who preserves you today.

The preservation of God is not a passive act but an active shield of grace. When you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, His rod and staff preserve you. When you are tempted, He preserves you by making a way of escape. When storms rise against your destiny, He stands as your anchor, ensuring that though shaken, you will not be moved.

Beloved, trust in His preserving hand. The same God who began a good work in you will preserve you blameless until the day of Christ. (Philippians 1:6; Jude 1:24)
