Recommitment is the act of returning to the place of passion, devotion, and discipline where we once stood with God. It is God’s gracious invitation to His children who may have drifted into complacency, distraction, or weariness. While salvation secures our eternal destiny, recommitment restores our daily fellowship, fire, and focus in Him.
The church in Ephesus had labored, endured, and resisted falsehood, yet Christ said they had left their first love. Recommitment calls us to remember where we have fallen, to repent for drifting, and to redo the works that once kept our hearts burning.
Recommitment is not a one-time event; it is a lifestyle of renewal. David prayed, “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation” (Psalm 51:12), because he understood that joy and fire must be maintained. Paul urged Timothy to “stir up the gift of God” (2 Timothy 1:6), teaching us that passion must be rekindled.
When we recommit, we regain focus in prayer, diligence in the Word, fervency in worship, and excellence in service. It is not about condemnation but restoration. God does not despise a broken and contrite heart (Psalm 51:17). His call to recommitment is an invitation into deeper intimacy and greater usefulness.

Prophetic Declaration
Today, I choose to return to my first love. I recommit my life, my time, my energy, and my heart to the Lord. Every place I grew cold, may His fire rekindle me. I shall walk in renewed passion, restored intimacy, and divine focus, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
