2 Corinthians 6:14 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” (KJV)

Most people fear marrying people of different faiths because they believe it's unequal yoking. This is true, but there is a worse yoking that most people never realize. I see many people who today make friends to the extent of becoming roommates. This is one of the most dangerous things a man can do to himself. God helped me realize early not to easily share my atmosphere with everyone; at an early age I was determined never to have roommates.

When the Bible speaks about unequally yoking with nonbelievers, he is not only speaking about finding a spouse, but any person who says to you they want to be your friend or roommate. Because people don't understand this wisdom, many have brought in people who have altered their destinies forever. Not everyone should be in close communion with you.

Whoever you choose to stay with and share fellowship with can either build you or break you.

Most people have never realized that people carry environments and atmospheres. There are people you stay with, and all they bring you is stagnation. Unequally yoking with friends/roommates has destroyed more destinies than marriages. Have the discipline to stay alone and guard your atmosphere before you sell your birthright.

As we pray and fast today, ask God to give you wisdom to guard your environment from unequal yokes.
