Matthew 23:23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier [matters] of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done without leaving the others undone." (KJV)

Effectiveness in the work of God begins when you understand what one needs to focus on. For example; a man building a house must lay emphasis on the foundation and not the paint because without the foundation, there is no point in painting what cannot be built.

Likewise, the verse shows us that there are matters of the word that are weightier than others. They are greater truths that a believer must understand.

Build your life in the foundation of the weightier matters.

Every man who builds his life of salvation on that which is passing; lives a life without impact. This is why some bare a hundred fold and others bare sixty fold and thirty fold. Understand the weightier matters.
