Proverbs 27:21 "Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but a person is tested by being praised." (NLT)

One time someone who listens to all my sermons diligently observed something through my teachings and they asked me a question. Why is it that everyone you praise publicly falls from ministry or backslides? I answered them by saying praise tests men.

The verse teaches us that a man's heart is tried by praise. This is why when a man is wise, he does not receive praise from men because praise reveals the impurities hidden in a man's heart.

If you ever want to know the strength of a man, praise them.

This is why wise men abase themselves even when they know the end of everything; yet speak to people praising them so that they can be revealed if they are wise or if they are wanting in knowledge.

I have been young and now am old yet I have never seen an unwise man that survived the test of praise.

Prophetic Declarations

Heavenly Father, we thank you for you have given us wisdom to know how we ought to carry ourselves in praise and how to handle greatness. Your wisdom has taught us to abase ourselves even when we are lifted. AMEN
