Colossians 3:2 "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." (KJV)

One man made a statement and said, "Believers spend hours praying instead of working; money does not come by prayer." Whilst the statement is very true, it is a display of the great confusion that has blinded many. When a believer prays, he is not seeking wealth through prayer; he is seeking something way beyond this realm.

The verse is clear, set your affection on things above. Many children of God have exchanged their godly lives for a temporal comfort because they went out seeking what could be gained through hard work. This is because they never set their affections right.

Your affections define your belief system and consequently your decisions.

Everyone whose affections are on earth seeks those things which are of the earth, and they are very clear; cars, houses, spouses, lands, clothes, food, and friends. This is very far from one who is seeking the kingdom, his heart is set on God. It's not important what he has or has not; it's not important to look better than them or not. Surprisingly, those who go out to fix their earthly life end up in the hands and care of those who sought God.
