DAY TWENTY SEVEN: PRAYER AND FASTING

Matthew 23:34 "Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and [some] of them ye shall kill and crucify; and [some] of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute [them] from city to city:" (KJV)

The Prophetic office has always been very crucial in the kingdom of God. In every generation, he sets some men ahead of a dispensation to carry the responsibility of carrying the oracles of God. Because of this, the Prophetic office is one of the most attacked. Even in our generation, there seems to be a great attack on the Prophetic from those who supposedly carry the apostolic ministry.

The verse shows us that Jesus himself promised to still use the Prophetic office even after he is gone, but added that Israel will not hear them but will kill them so that the wrath of God can rest upon the wickedness of Israel. Our modern-day apostles have fallen into a dangerous envious spirit that disguises as correction but carries deep-seated envy that disputes everything it can not do.

Never dismiss the importance of the Prophetic office simply because your pastor does not approve of it.

There will always be operations in the Prophetic ministry that will never be understood by logic. There are many miracles that God is going to do without consulting those who seem to have studied the extent of what God can do. The attack on the Prophetic office is not an attack on prophets but an attack on the body of Christ. As you celebrate teachings wrapped in a cloth of envy, understand that the body of Christ is being destroyed.

These envious teachers end up confusing young prophets who are left without mentorship because they grow up with a stereotype towards the major prophets. This is why it's very important to always learn from a person who carries the grace for the same. If a man has never seen in the spirit, he can not carry the explanation of what he has not experienced. If you don't understand how men pick up details in the spirit, you don't have the explanation of the same. But thanks be to God, he is raising a generation of men and women who are above petty fights, who honour one another, and that are not seeking to establish kingdoms but to see the body flourishing. This is why many young ministers are walking away from men who attack the very gifts that they carry or have need for.

Therefore, as we pray today, ask God to strengthen the prophets to minister amidst opposition even from the body. Pray for unity of the body of Christ.
