THE PERFECTION OF THE POWER OF GOD IN WEAKNESS

February 2, 2023

DAY TWO: PRAYER AND FASTING

Matthew 4:1-3 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (KJV)

The above scripture shows us the first action Christ took in his ministry. After receiving the spirit; he was led into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Notice that the tempter could have come on day one, but he didn't. He wanted to tempt the Lord of his weakness but couldn't find any in that moment until after forty days when the Lord was hungred. Then the tempter showed up with an opportunity of food.

This shows us the wiles of the enemy. He is not as powerful or as wise as men may think, and he is always  looking out for your weakness; for men are tempted in their own desires. Just like he tempted Eve in the garden and not Adam. For he knew that Eve was not the one who received instruction and therefore had no concrete knowledge in the same instruction God gave Adam.

The power of God is manifest upon us in weakness. (Ref 2 Cor 12:9) As a child of God, learn to train yourself to experience the grace and power of God in your life lest you succumb to the weaknesses in your flesh.
