THE MIGHTY MEN OF DAVID

August 14, 2023

Topic: How Greatness Is Built
2 Samuel 23:8 "These [are] the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-Basshebeth the Tachmonite, chief among the captains. He was called Adino the Eznite because he had killed eight hundred men at one time." (KJV)

Most people believe that to be great, one has to have done exploits. This is a big myth. Greatness doesn't really come by the action itself but rather by a certain pattern in wisdom. Today, I will expound for you on how men are able to do exploits.

Notice that the verse says these were the mighty men that David had. The first pattern of greatness is that there has to be a man who leads the group. It is possible that these men were warriors of themselves, but opportunity would have never come to them if they didn't have a man whose destiny was a king to follow.

Unless a man is willing to follow instruction, his true potential may not be realized.

Whenever you commit yourself to always do the small tasks in instruction, you set yourself up for great results. The greatest men out there have a record of accomplishing the smallest goals.

Grow therefore in the area of focus. If there is a small task set ahead of you, run after it as the only thing there is to accomplish.
