At the beginning of Paul and Barnabas' ministry, they found themselves in city where after they had ministered; certain men stirred up the people against them and they were cast out of the city. But after they had shaken off the dust against the city, they moved on and the bible shows us that they were filled with joy and the Holy Ghost.
If you simply read that verse as history you would ask yourself what joy is in being cast out of the city. And to many in our generation, it's a sign that the ministers who are cast out are not of God. But when you read it with an open mind, you discover a greater truth that these men rejoiced in doing God's work even in much trouble. It is this wisdom that brings men joy unspeakable.
The joy of the Holy Spirit comes from understanding that you ought to rejoice in his will.
The promise of God for a better future is the joy of Holy Spirit. If you ever catch yourself unhappy and unfulfilled, ask yourself if you are rejoicing in God's will. Therefore, until you learn to rejoice in God's will, you can never find joy in the very life you're leading.
Prophetic Declarations
Heavenly Father, we thank you for you have given us joy in serving you, not only joy but also pleasure in your will, that our very lives have tasted of your goodness. AMEN
