THE DOCTRINE

August 14, 2023

Topic: How Personal Doctrine is Built
‍1 Timothy 4:16 "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself and them that hear thee." (KJV)

‍Every man has a doctrine at the core of their life by which they live. The word octrine means; A set of beliefs, teaching, or culture. While the word of God is supposed to be the measure. But because of interpretation, men end up with different beliefs.

These beliefs that men end up formulating become very important in defining how far one goes in this life.

‍The verse teaches us to take heed of our doctrine, to make sure it is sound; it saves both you and your hearers. For example; there are people who because of their doctrine can not learn through scripture true doctrine. They therefore can submit themselves to inferior doctrines as long as they confirm their personal beliefs.

True spiritual growth happens when you allow your beliefs to be guided by the true interpretation of scripture.

‍If a man believes that he can never build a ten-floor building, no matter how you teach them a scripture, "All things are possible to those who believe."

‍Because of his beliefs, he will always be limited. He will never see himself being able to build that kind of structure.

‍Therefore, examine your doctrine with sincerity and ask yourself serious questions. Do I believe in being a shining Christian? What I believe, will it take me where I need to go? The friends I have surrounded myself with, will they facilitate God's vision over my life? The teachers in my life can they, birth what God has put in me?
