1 John 3:1 "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not."

Once you are a child of God, you cannot desire to be known by the world, neither to be friends of the world. Because the world does not love God, so it cannot love the children of God.

The verse shows us that the love of God caused us to be called the sons of God. This is the call unto sonship, where by we become co-heirs with Christ; sharing in his inheritance as the first born among many brethen.

It is the understanding of the call of sonship that gives us confidence when we pray; that we shall be answered.

We ask and we receive because it is the will of God for us to receive. As a child of God, God is more willing to answer you than you are willing to ask.
