Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. (KJV)

There is a big difference between a believer who attends church and survives on the teachings of the preacher but never takes time to study the word of God by themselves and a believer who not only receives the word but takes time to search out the word to discover if those things which are taught are so.

The scripture speaks of the church at Berea, which had believers that not only gladly received the word of God, but they searched out the word. It says they were more noble than those at Thessalonica. Therefore, the bible says many of them believed.

Your faith in the word is directly proportional to the time you invest in the same.

Develop a culture of searching out the scriptures; of studying the verses that have given you instruction. Take time to know them by yourself. This will change your life.

There are three ways a man can grow his spiritual life: reading the word, sharing the word, and practicing the word.
