THE ART OF MAKING CHOICES

February 17, 2023

DAY SEVENTEEN: PRAYER AND FASTING

Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death." (KJV)

Most young people often time question older people in regard to their choices, wondering how they made such a decision. One may meet a divorced person and wonder how they could not know from the on set that they are marrying the wrong person. It is always easy to see where others could have made the right decision but completely complex when it comes to walking the talk.

The verse shows us that there is a way that can appear right in a man's sight, but the end are the WAYS of death. Firstly, notice that one wrong choice has many ways to death. Secondly, understand most wrong choices appear right.

Most logically, correct paths have their end in destruction.

Do you know how many people have made wrong choices because they felt it was the right way to go? The biggest percentage of wrong decisions began with the statement, "I felt strongly it was meant to be." People can reject truth for conviction. Conviction is a consequence of knowledge. The lesser you know, the more a miss your convictions are going to be. Take time to understand rather than to be emotionally triggered. Most people's decisions are reactionary and not deliberate.

Circumstances have determined the choices of many rather than truth. This is why many people don't know the art of making decisions. When you are fully grown, you make decisions because you have understood not because you were triggered by something external. If your decisions are event triggered, it's possible your entire life is a consequence of circumstances. As you pray today, ask God to give you the ability to be independent of circumstances.
