THE ABSALOM SPIRIT - THE UNTRAINED TEACHER

July 7, 2022

2 Samuel 15:2-3 Early each morning he would take up his post beside the road at the city gate. When anyone showed up with a case to bring to the king for a decision, Absalom would call him over and say, "Where do you hail from?" And the answer would come, "Your servant is from one of the tribes of Israel." Then Absalom would say, "Look, you've got a strong case; but the king isn't going to listen to you." " (MSG)

In the ranks of leadership, it is important that one understands that leadership comes from God and it is not a matter of simply desire neither is it of primogeniture. But God chooses a competent leader according to his heart.

We see Absalom, one of the sons of David who coveted to be a leader by sitting at the gate way and giving temporal judgement to the people while discrediting his father the king, because he thought he was a better alternative to the leadership. In so much that the scripture shows us that the whole heart of Israel was unto him.

Eventually he set up a coup against his own Father which did not become successful. With this, you ought to understand that leadership takes greater responsibility than gathering numbers to yourself.

A man is not saved in a multitude of host.

Leadership is about a perfect heart before God that seeks to grow into it's full responsibility. As a child of God, never take up office that God has not prepared you for.
