SPEECH - THE BOUNDARY OF COMMUNICATION

June 22, 2022

Genesis 11:7 "Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." (NIV)

Communication is one of the greatest phenomena that God created. In it's vastness, it's bigger than words said; sounds made; or the language used. It gets to the gestures made and the tone which forms our speech; the ability by which we can express thoughts by articulate sounds.

The verse shows us that when God came down to confound the language of the men building the tower, he was not concerned much about changing their language as much as he was concerned about them understanding their speech. He changed their languages such that their speech is not understandable.

The Hebrew word used for speech is the word "Sapa" which means shore, boundary, brink, bank. This is powerful because it means your speech defines the extent of your boundary. This explains why some people can never experience a great life because their boundary is limited.

The extent of your speech defines the extent of your vision.

Therefore, men who grow great visions have trained themselves to have great speech such that they are understood by people who do not necessarily speak their language. The communication of the vision is expressed in their speech.

Child of God, your ability to express your thoughts will determine how you access the purposes of God in your life.

Prophetic Declarations

Heavenly Father, I thank you because you have given me speech, the kind that stretches forth to the boundary of my vision. AMEN
