SALVATION

July 20, 2023

Topic: The Life of God
‍Romans 6:6 "Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." (KJV)

‍Salvation is not an alternative culture, it's not a mindset, it's not a lifestyle. Most people come to church as a substitute for the time they spent in clubs. A true believer must be fundamentally different in the way they live and approach life.

‍The scripture shows us that when you get born again, your flesh is killed so that it does not sin. This means the first sign of a growing Christian is their commitment to defeat sin. There has to be a determination in a person's heart not to walk in darkness. This does not suggest in any way that a Christian can not be tempted, or can not sin but rather even in the sight of sin a true Christian cannot rejoice in evil. Be very careful when you find yourself in a place where you are no more convicted of sin.

True salvation is having power over the sinful nature.

‍Sin does not just fall on people often, it's usually served and fed by the constant consuming of worldly ways.

‍These come wrapped in so many ways; music, movies, content, and lifestyle. Until you can separate yourself from the consumption of these, sin is always going to be hard to defeat.

‍A Christian must give himself wholly unto the word of God, and immerse his entire life in the word till God becomes his lifestyle.
