1 Thessalonians 4:7 "For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness." (KJV)

The callings of God are to every man yet God expects us to understand that he is seeking to set us apart when he calls us. Therefore, there is an expectation for one to be set apart once he answers the call.

The verse shows us that God has not called us to uncleanness but unto holiness, which is also interpreted as sanctification (To be set apart).

God's mind when he calls a man is that he will be sanctified in every way from the rest of the world.

This explains why as a child of God, you must understand that its necessary for you to treat the covenant with care; by walking in true holiness before God and before man.
