HUNGRY FOR GOD

December 5, 2022

Philippians 3:8 "Yea doubtless, and I count all things [but] loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them [but] dung, that I may win Christ," (KJV)

Every man has aspirations to study and excel, get a good job, get a good family, find a good church and perhaps build a nice home. This is all good but the more you know God is the more you realise God was and is the goal. Therefore all things become as dung for the excellence of knowing Christ. This brings one in a place of hunger of spirit to know the power of his resurrection.

The verse shows us the experience of Paul, how that after he excelled above his peers, he counted it loss. Something in him gave him certainty that gaining Christ was more than the achievements he had.

Hunger for things of God will bring you to a place where he is the object of your love.

This is why those who see God in a mighty way learn to count all things loss. It takes row hunger to move in a certain dimension in God. A dimension where God proves he is the one fighting on your behalf. God sends us to a place where we want more. Not for anything the world can give but things excellent touching your word.
