1 Kings 22:43 “And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places.” (KJV)

Every territory has high places—centers of influence, authority, and control that determine the spiritual climate of the people. In the Bible, these high places were literal elevated sites where idols were worshiped. Spiritually today, they represent the controlling systems, mindsets, and platforms that shape culture. Whoever controls the high places controls the direction of a generation.

God commanded Israel to destroy the high places because they became strongholds for idolatry and rebellion (Deuteronomy 12:2-3). Yet many kings failed to remove them, and as a result, the people drifted into compromise.

The enemy will always fight for the high places because they are gates to territories. But believers are called to bring them under the authority of Jesus Christ.

1. Identify Them — Ask God for spiritual discernment to locate the spheres influencing your life, family, or nation.

2. Tear Them Down in Prayer — Break demonic authority with consistent warfare and prophetic decrees.

3. Replace Them with God’s Rule — Establish godly altars through worship, truth, and Kingdom principles.

4. Occupy and Influence — Step into positions of influence in education, government, business, and culture.

Prophetic Declarations

Father, open my eyes to see the high places in my life, my community, and my nation. Give me courage to confront them and wisdom to establish Your Kingdom in their place. By the authority of Jesus Christ, I decree that every stronghold is broken and every gate of influence is brought under the rule of God. Amen.
