GRATITUDE

February 2, 2023

Luke 7:47 "Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loveth little." (KJV)

Onetime I was over working myself for someone, trying to do the best I could for them, when I was asked, why are you doing so much for this person? I simply answered, "Because I am very grateful, the man had put me to school." The level to which a man understands what was done for them determines how they respond in gratitude.

We see a similar conversation in the scripture when Jesus visited one Simon, a pharisee who neither gave him water nor received him with kisses according to the Jewish culture. But a lady who was known to be a prostitute kissed his feet and anointed his head and feet with ointment. Then Simon, his host, murmured, wondering if Jesus was a prophet. How would he let a sinful woman touch him?

A man's gratitude is a consequence of a man's thoughts.

When you're forgiven much, you love much. When you are helped a lot, you give back a lot. But when you do not have the mind to understand when you have been given much, you can never be grateful. No matter where you ever find yourself in life; learn to be grateful to your God.
