Topic: How Faith Works

1 Timothy 1:4-5 "Don't let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don't help people live a life of faith in God. The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith." (NLT)

One of the things that help someone walk the sure life of God, is their deep conviction of God's integrity with his word. Every believer who ultimately enjoys the promises of God began with receiving the teachings of God with a pure conscience and a sincere faith. Unfortunately, many people today have taken a path where the word is an issue of opinion.

The verse shows us that we ought to treat the word as an instruction in love and not an issue of baseless discussion. When the word of God becomes an argument of interpretation, the people have either replaced the word with feebles or have since drifted from the truth.

When a man drifts from the truth, he begins to question the integrity of the word.

Paul expresses how the word must be treated not as an instrument of debate but as a manual to change. When you are reading the word to change, you are making progress.
