Matthew 3:15 "And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer [it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him." (KJV)

There are many things in life that in principle do not hold for much but yet they are necessary to be done; but by wisdom it becomes necessary to do. This maturity is a very integral part of life that often is lacking in some people.

The verse shows us that Christ went down to be baptized by John the Baptist even though it was not necessary for him. But to validate the ministry of John, he accepted to be baptized by John.

When you're matured, you learn to do certain things not by obligation but by reason of maturity.

Therefore, it is not important that you win an argument or appear wise in front of people at the expense of understanding. Certain times, take time to build a character that displays godly wisdom.
