Topic : Preaching Christ By Reason of Necessity

Acts 8:5-6 "Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did." (KJV)

When you study the first church that Christ left, you will realise every man understood the gravity of preaching the gospel and reaching someone. No matter where a disciple found himself, they all knew preaching the gospel was a great mandate. This virtue seems to have dwindled in our time we seem to preach because there is an evangelism campaign at church. Evangelism has turned into street play and noise campaigns.

The verse shows us the effectiveness of Philips ministry when he went down to Samaria. It notes that all people gave heed to what he was preaching, and they saw the miracles that he had performed. Notice, also that Philip was not really a preacher at Jerusalem he was simply among the seven men who were chosen to serve tables.

You know a growing Christian by his influence on those around them.

A true growing Christian will cause men to follow after Christ because he understands that this is the great ministry that God has handed over to us. Child of God, wake up from the slumber of the 21st century. The gospel is needed now than it has  ever been needed in the history of the world.
