DAY FOURTEEN: PRAYER AND FASTING

Matthew 25:1 "Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom." (KJV)

The reason most people continue praying and missing out on God's timing is because they do not understand how the kingdom of God functions. The kingdom of God is about discerning a door of opportunity and being wise to know how to use it to the glory of God.

The verse speaks about the kingdom of God being likened to the ten virgins, five of whom were wise and the rest being foolish because they did not know how to prepare themselves for meeting the bride-groom.

Those who inherit the kingdom have themselves prepared by reason of where they want to be.

We see that the wise virgins kept extra oil in their lanterns, anticipating the groom could be late. This explains a very powerful principle in accessing a door of opportunity. The blessing of God will always be with a man who gets himself prepared.

Therefore, if you want to see the hand of God in your life; learn to make use of the opportunities God sends your way, always having the wisdom to know that spiritual doors appear once and you ought to be ready. Be very careful if every opportunity that comes your way has to always go to your neighbor because you were not ready, some doors never come around twice. Today, as you pray, ask God to always make you ready for opportunities of promotion.
