1 Kings 8:22 “And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:”

One time, God revealed to me the purpose of dedicating everything to him before applying it to any use. This informed why as believers we ought to dedicate our plans to God.

In the verse, we see that even though it was in the purpose of King Solomon to build God’s temple; for so was what God said to his father David. Solomon still dedicated the temple to God before everyone after building it.

Prayer of dedication preserves because it invites God to be the center.

This does not mean that God does not dwell in places that have not been dedicated. But it pleases God when we commit everything in his hands.

Prophetic Declarations

Our Father in heaven, we lift your name on high, we commit to you ourselves and our plans. Come and dwell in us. AMEN
