Topic : Believing the Word of God
Romans 3:4 “Let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That Thou mightest be justified in Thy sayings, and mightest overcome when Thou art judged.” (KJV)
In every generation, opinions rise louder than truth. The voices of men are many, their reasoning vast, and their philosophies endless. Yet, only one voice remains eternal—the Word of God. Opinions are shaped by culture, experience, emotions, and traditions, but the Word is settled forever in heaven (Psalm 119:89).
The danger of leaning on opinions is that they shift like sand. What is praised today, may be condemned tomorrow.
Opinions are not a sure foundation for destiny. When believers allow human reasoning to outweigh divine revelation, they open the door to confusion, doubt, and compromise. But faith is built not on the arguments of men, but on the unshakable promises of God.
Jesus Himself faced opinions. The Pharisees called Him a blasphemer, His own brothers doubted Him, and the crowds called for His crucifixion. Yet He never lived by their views. He declared, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4). To overcome opinions, one must anchor life in the Word.
The Word of God is the believer’s compass. When opinions are many, the Word is the standard. When counsel is conflicting, the Word is the final authority. To win in life, one must silence the noise of men and tune the heart to the eternal voice of Scripture.
