DEALING WITH MANIPULATIVE SPIRITS

November 28, 2022

Genesis 31:6-7 "You know how hard I have worked for your father, but he has cheated me, changing my wages ten times. But God has not allowed him to do me any harm." (NLT)

Manipulative spirits come in all shapes and forms, they come from work places, family, friends, or even in church. These manifest through ungratefulness and seek to put people in a place where you are always at the mercy of their choice.  If someone is manipulating you, they will always try to show you that you have not done enough to their liking therefore you spend your life seeking to please them.

The verse shows us how Jacob for many years was cheated of his wages by Laban, but it also tells us that yet he could not hurt him. One thing you need to understand about manipulative spirits is that they will never be able to harm; they can control you, and turnish your reputation but they have no power to determine your destiny.

Defeating a manipulative spirit begins when you understand that you can never please everyone.

I know many people who died trying to please people. Learn to do your best in the sight of God before man; and if it is not appreciated, understand that God is the rewarder of them that are diligent. It is a total waste of time to be a people pleaser because you can never do enough to please a manipulative spirit. Learn to be enough in God.
