DEALING WITH DIVISIONS

August 18, 2023

Topic: How to Overcome Hatred
2 Samuel 9:1 "And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?" (KJV)

In life, whether you decide to be good to every man, a day can come where you find yourself at war with another. It may be your making, it may not be, but such is life. However, it is wrong to stay in a place of bitterness with an individual. Divisions, war, hatred, anger, and things alike are not of God. At a certain point, you must mature out of them.

We see David who asked if there was a remnant in the house of Saul, a man who had wanted to kill him. He asked so that he could bless them for Jonathan's sake. Always find a reason or a good memory to reconcile with people. It is great wisdom to live at peace with people.

Great people remove hostility; Small people carry bitterness for ages.

These are the things that caused David to be called a man after God's own heart. He was able to know that Saul, his enemy, was dead, but his son Jonathan was his friend and he broke the curse of anger.

Child of God, take time every decade to forgive any person, whether in your family or your circle of any wrongs they might have done to you. Never enter a new age with the wrongs of men. People change, people evolve, who are you not to forgive people whom God has forgiven? Then, you will see prosperity beyond measure.
