DEALING WITH DISTRACTIONS

September 7, 2023

Topic: The Voices That Matter

1 Samuel 16:7 "But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for [the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." (KJV)

In walking with God, hearing his voice will require that you silence all other voices. The voice of God stands distinct from anything else always.

The verse shows us that Samuel came looking for a king to anoint according to the word of God. But when he saw Eliab's stature, it blinded him to assume that is the king God has chosen.

Learning to silence distractions is the ability to hear God.

This is why those who do expoilts in God have no confidence in what is outward. They have learnt to draw strength from the deepest of parts.
