Topic : How To Talk - A Progressive Spirit

Proverbs 15:4 “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit." (KJV)

Everyone who has kids or younger siblings understands the embarrassment a young kid can cause because of how they speak. A child can say the most embarrassing thing in the presence of strangers without even realizing that they have said anything strange. Like wise is a man who doesn’t progress in the things of God; his tongue will say things that become a breach to his own spirit.

The verse shows us, that if you possess a tongue that’s matured in speech, you have a tree of life. Which means that you are growing, you know a man who is full of God by what comes out of their mouth. Child of God, no matter how you feel, keep your tongue from speaking perversely because you can breach your spirit.

What causes a man’s spirit to be crushed is the very words that come out of his own mouth.

No man has ever been destroyed by what he was told but rather what he spoke. That’s why else where the scripture tells us, ‘what corrupts a man is not what enters but what comes out.’ For that which you speak has come from the meditation of your own heart. Never breach your spirit by speaking things contrary to your faith. Regardless of how tested you can be in this life, guard your tongue. Many do not realize how serious it is to use your tongue recklessly.
