A FATHER'S BLESSING II

December 18, 2023

Topic : Discerning the Blesser
2 Samuel 15:2 "And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was [so], that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city [art] thou? And he said, Thy servant [is] of one of the tribes of Israel." (KJV)

When we began to share in this series, we learnt to how to know who has the ability to bless you. In ministry, there are many immature ministers for not being wise. They gather around themselves men who have controversies and attempt to teach them instead of sending them to the king/leader. Notice that they only approach those with controversies.

The verse shows us one Absalom, who would sit at the gate of the king and find everyone who is not contented with the king and seek to give them justice. However, the verse continued to show us that he did this to all Israel until he won their hearts. The purpose of men who make disciples of another man's disciple is to win them to themselves.

It is not wisdom to make disciples in another man's vision.

As you continue to study the story of Absalom, you will discover that when he waged war against his father David, he lost it. This teaches us a deeper revelation. If you follow an Absalom spirit the day calamity befalls you, whether it's a sickness or any predicament, they will never be anointed enough to remove that situation.

Therefore, the purpose of fathering people is not necessarily to receive money from them, but rather to pray for them in their time of distress, to have wisdom to guide them in their hardest moments. Everyone who makes disciples of men his not sent to only ends up confusing them. Many always find themselves lost because they followed a wrong leader to begin with. This is why we advise people never listen to a man who seems to bring you ideas that are always contrary to your father's vision.
